About Project
This project launched on January 06, 2005. One of the reasons of opening this project was the reality, that majority of the Armenian Internet published media are installed in Armenia where Internet connection is noticeably slow and collecting them on the fast server could increase the audience. The other reason is to get a chance to spread a word about Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Republic. This project is aimed to accomplish these objectives:- Concentrate all information and news about Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) in one place.
- Help increase popularity of media and information agencies from Armenia and NKR.
- Organize public discussions in the forum about political, social and cultural issues.
- Publish articles, opinions and other materials provided by organizations and individuals about Armenia and NKR.
- Help increase awareness of Armenian Genocide, that took place in 1915-1922 in Ottoman Turkey.
This project designed, programmed and maintained by me (aka SkyFlyer).

I know that Uruguay is the first country which recognized the Armenian Genocide on the government level. I never came across to your website either. Very nice and clean design. Thanks for the great idea and elegant implementation. It'd be nice to see tagging capabilities added to the site, for simple filtration of the news by their corresponding tags.
Thanks for the nice idea. I will think about and will do my best to implement this idea in the future. - William M. | U.S.A | 02.12.2007 17:13
Hi Armtown.com, My name is William Y.M. for my class discussion I’m talking about Armenia and history of Armenia. I have one question I could find it in my online research I was hoping maybe you can help me with this question. My question is, where do Armenians come from as far as their descended who are they blood line is it Semitic is it European or (Indio European) is it Arab? I fund your web-side very educational. By helping me with this question I would be able to educate the class more about Armenia and their history. Thank you William
Hi William,
It would be an honor for me to help you. Unfortunately I am not an historian, but I know enough to be able to help you. The best source about Armenian history available online is Wikipedia.

I will be in Armenia, arriving in Yerevan July 14. Are there any opera productions at that time? It would be nice to have cultural news (i.e. musicals, dance groups, motion pictures, drama, etc.).
I have added an events calendar to the website which you could find here. I hope you will find in the events calendar what you where looking for. Have a fun in Yerevan and enjoy your trip. - Helen | USA | 03.14.2006 23:59
Congratulations on this great website. I know that it has been available for some time now, but unfortunately until today I was not able to view. To be perfectly honest with you, I wish I had checked it out sooner. I believe this website will unite more and more Armenians from around the world. Keep up the great work!!!One question: do you have any information on medical development in Armenia? Thank you Helen.
My dear wife. This is what I have been doing lately when I was sitting in front of computer. I believe this couldn't succeed without your love and support! I am very lucky for having you in my life. I don’t have latest developments in medical field in Armenia, but I am sure it is growing very fast. Thanks for your posting darling. - Afrikian Armen Richard | USA | 02.02.2006 01:27
The site is wonderful. The political, military, economic and educational news topics keep us informed. Travel information for children with their families and others would help the economy as well as our cultural growth.
Travel is the one of uncovered information about Armenia. I would love to provide targeted information about specific sector of the travel industry to you and other visitors. Please tell me what kind of information you are looking for (if you like, we can discuss this in the forum)? - Jason | USA | 01.11.2006 00:53

Hello, just to let you know that I really enjoy this website (www.armtown.com). I always read news about Armenia in English, but this is a great opportunity to read it also in Armenian and Russian. I would like to encourage you to write some information also about the Educational System in Armenia, Armenian universities, and International and Youth Exchange programs. I mean, at present time, there are so many exchange students studying in different countries and so many foreigners studying in Armenia, and I think it would be a good way to let others also know about all those programs, and maybe they will become interested in those programs and participate for getting new cultural experiences. Maybe putting some information about the university entrance exams in Armenia would also be good. Thanks for making it easier for us to get news from Armenia.
Now you could read it in Armenian and Russian. Dont forget to check all three languages, because now news sources are different for each language. In the future I will try to find some information about the Educational System in Armenia and Youth Exchange programs. - Vahe Heboyan | Athens, GA, USA | 04.10.2005 11:23
Well, I should say this is one of the most comprehensive websites dedicated to the Armenia and Armenians I have ever seen. Keep up the good job.
Thank you Vahe for your nice words. I would try to do my best. - Avagyan Sofya (sofa@freenet.am) | Armenia (NKR) | 04.05.2005 03:43
I study at Law faculty in Arcakh State University .Saw your project and I really apreciate it. I think it's just great idea to gather all the information about Armenia in one website. So I'd like you to open a new page, which would consist some information about Juridical System of Republic of Armenia (Constitutional changes, new Laws, International conrtacts etc.). Anyway, thanks a lot and good luck.
Dear Sofya, for gathering information about the law, you must be at least lawyer otherwise it wouldn''t be complete. I would love to do that if you or somebody else could help me. - Azad | USA | 03.28.2005 17:46
Congratulations in this site. I think its a very nice and it gathers news about armenians in addition to the forum, which brings armenians together to discuss issues. It will be nice to have a place for Armenian businesses to add a link to their website. that way the site will be a source for everyone to find almost anything about armenians, and a search engine for armenians business on line. or on line armenian yellow pages. just a suggestion. Thanks,Azad
Dear Azad, thank you for your great suggestions. There are lots of interesting points in there, but for now I am trying to deliver to visitors quality news, which is pretty hard tusk. In the future, I assure you, that I will bring some of your suggestions into life.
