"EMMY" AWARD NOMINATIONS REVEALED
- Downton Abbey walked away with six Emmy Awards last year, but this year they could be walking away with even more.
The hit period drama has found itself in three major categories of the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with an astonishing 16 nods in total.
Not only is it up for Best Drama Series, but stars of the show Michelle Dockery and Hugh Bonneville are up for Best Actress and Actor awards.

In addition, Maggie Smith and Joanne Froggatt, who play Dowager Countess of Grantham and Anna respectively, will fight it out in the category of Supporting actress in a drama series, while Brendan Coyle, who plays JOhn Bates, will face competition from co-star Jim Carter, who stars as Mr Carson, int he Supporting actor in a drama series category.
The nominations today make Downton Abbey the most Emmy-nominated British TV show in history, with 27 nominations over the past two years.
Announcing the nominations today was TV host Jimmy Kimmel and star of Scandal, Kerry Washington.
Unsurprisingly, Downton Abbey has got some strong competitors in all three categories.
