ROBERT KOCHARIAN: NORMALIZATION OF RELATIONS IS A PREROGATIVE OF GOVERNMENTS NOT HISTORIANS
- Armenia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey without preconditions, stated Armenian President Robert Kocharian at the interview with the French Le Figaro newspaper, PanARMENIAN.Net reported. He rejected Turkey’s offer to create a joint commission of historians in order to clarify the events of 1915 and called upon Ankara to establish an inter-governmental commission.

“Normalization of bilateral relations is a prerogative of governments not historians,” stressed the head of the Armenian State. He also added the Armenian side is ready to establish diplomatic relations without preconditions, to establish an inter-governmental commission in order to discuss all, even the most critical issues, “ RFE/RL reports.
