
ARMENIAN EMBASSY IN TEHRAN HOLDS AN EVENT MARKING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE’S 90TH ANNIVERSARY
The Armenian Embassy in Tehran held an event on December 17 at the Armenian Club of Tehran to mark the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The event featured the Kadens Group directed by Armen Babakhanian. The group performed the works by Komitas, Sayat Nova, Aram Khachaturian, Astor Piazzolla, Karlos Gardels and others. The event, was attended by foreign diplomats, Armenian church leaders, Iranian politicians and members of the Armenian community.
Armenian Ambassador to Iran Karen Nazarian made the opening remarks. He briefed the present on the recent developments in the Armenian Genocide recognition process, noting that the Lithuanian Parliament adopted an Armenian Genocide resolution on December 15.
He also condemned the destruction of the Armenian khachkars at the Old Jugha Armenian cemetery by the Azeri soldiers calling on the foreign diplomats to add their voices against this vandalism.
