ARMENIAN FM SAYS PROGRESS IS NOTABLE IN KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT
“The discussions with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs were positive,” Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian told a news conference on December 15. “We think there was a progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process in 2005 and the positive trend will continue next year.”
He also noted that no package of proposals exists at this point, the discussions concentrate on the key principles of the settlement and only if an agreement is reached a draft settlement will be made.
Oskanian mentioned that no date or place have been set for a coming meeting of the Armenian and Azeri presidents but there is a willingness to hold such meeting in the beginning of the next year.
