ARMENIAN PRESIDENT, RUSSIAN SPEAKER DISCUSS
- President Robert Kocharian received today Sergey Mironov, the speaker of Russia’s Federal Assembly.
Praising the dynamically developing relations between the two nations, the Armenian president noted that the Year of Russia in Armenia was a success. Kocharian pinned hope that the accumulated experience would enable the parties to further develop relations in ecnomy, culture as well as other spheres.
In turn, Sergey Mironov noted that the inter-parliamentary cooperation was successful too; he mentioned that the days of the Russian Federal Assembly opened today at the Armenian National Assembly and that a similar event will be held next year in Moscow.
Kocharian also added that a notable activeness is observed in terms of Russia’s investments in Armenia.
The parties also pointed out that inter-regional cooperation is stepping up and the Yerevan conference on inter-regional cooperation next year would contribute to further ties between Armenian and Russian regions.
