OSKANIAN, MAMEDYAROV MEET TO DISCUSS KARABAKH SETTLEMENT
Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian met with this Azeri counterpart Elmar Mamedyarov on December 4 in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.
The meeting was held as a business lunch attended also by OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Steven Mann, Yurin Merzliakov and Bernard Fasier.
Noted that the situation following the Kazan meeting of the Armenain and Azeri presidents is positive, the parties presented their views on the Karabakh settlement process.
They also discussed the details of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ visits to the region scheduled for mid December as well as the possible meeting of the two presidents in the beginning of the next year.

Today in Armenian history- 1837 Birth of Stepanos Palasanyan (armenologist) in Bodushan, Moldavia. He died in 1889 in Etshmiadsin.
- 1837 Death of Hakob Shahen-Jrpetyan (armenologist) in Tbilissi. He was born in 1772 in Urfa.
- 1920 The first Armenian issue of the "Communist" daily published in Yerevan. It was the official paper of the Central Committee of the Armenian Communist Party. After 1921, it was called "Soviet Armenia".
- 1920 The first order of the Revolutionary Committee of the Armenian SSR creates the People's Commissariat of Military Affairs of the Armenian SSR.
