CONFERENCE ADDRESSES ISSUES RELATED TO UPCOMING CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM
- A conference titled “Constitutional Amendments: National Solidarity,” was held on Wednesday at the National Assembly, organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's (ARF) National Assembly faction. Intellectuals, rectors of universities and media chiefs attended the conference.

Opening the conference, ARF Armenia Supreme Body representative Armen Rustamian said that an environment of national solidarity is pivotal in order to evaluate the situation fairly. He also said that regardless of the referendum outcome, the country is to find itself in a situation of a done fact and it is important what peculiarities will the outcome have for the country.
Rustamian noted that concerns over the issues that the opposition exploits lessen as the coalition members hold meetings with people.
ARF Bureau representative Hrant Margarian said that the discontent with the authorities should not be associated with the referendum. He noted that if passed, the amendments would give more possibilities for the people to exercise control over the authorities, something today’s constitution does not allow. He also pointed out the removal of the ban on dual citizenship as a positive move.
