CITY COUNCIL OF EDINBURGH ADOPTS DRAFT RESOLUTION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
With 29 pro and 16 con votes the City Council of Edinburgh adopted yesterday the draft resolution on recognition of the Armenian Genocide prepared and presented by Head of the Labor Party Group Donald Anderson.
According to the Turkish newspaper Zaman, the City Council of Edinburgh has adopted the draft without taking into consideration the numerous protests of Turkish organizations in England. The newspaper informs that the draft has been supported by Liberal Democrats as well. It has been opposed only by representatives of the Conservative Party.
