SERZH SARGSIAN ON VISIT IN US

Defense Minister Serzh Sargsian”s official visit to US continues.
Yesterday the Foreign Minister delivered a speech at the Carnegie Fund. The speech was attended by representatives of Pentagon, US Department of State, research and political wings of state and other institutions, scholars and diplomats.
On the same day, Serzh Sargsian attended the round-table at the National Defense University of Washington. In his speech the minister turned to Armenian-American relations, economic and democratic reforms being carried out in Armenia, the bases for foreign policy of Armenia and touched upon the current state of relations with countries of the region and prospects for further development of ties.
Presenting the position of Armenian authorities on regional security and conflict regulation, the Defense Minister mentioned that countries of South Caucasus can achieve progress only through cooperation. Turning to the negotiation process over Nagorno-Karabakh issue, he pointed to the importance of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
