US ARMENIANS ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT BASKETBALL TEAM'S NEW CHIEF COACH
- The US Armenians are enthusiastic about the Basketball Federation's recent decision to appoint Karl Bardakyan the chief coach of the national male team. The US-based Armenian online news outlets have provided a wide coverage of the news, according to the local news website Armsport.am. Globalhye.com has quoted Christoph Boghosyan, a manager of the NBA New York Office, as saying that Bardakyan's experience could contribute to a long-term progress, making Armenians proud of basketball team's success. Bardakyan has received congratulations from US Armenians. A former sportsman of NBA, Jimmy King, has shared his congratulatory message on Twitter. Bardakyan is well known among the Armenians in US and maintains contacts with many of them. He will depart to the country to start trainings for the European Championship's Division C tournaments. The team will be back to Yerevan before the competitions. In addition to the US-Armenian basketball players, Armenian sportsmen from Russia and Iran can join the national team in the competitions.
