TURKEY, AZERBAIJAN TO CONCLUDE NEW GAS PIPELINE DEAL
- Turkey and Azerbaijan will sign a memorandum of understanding Monday on a fresh gas pipeline to carry Azeri gas to Turkey and Europe, Eurasia review reported. In a press statement Sunday, Turkish Energy Ministry said thorough technical and feasibility studies for the pipeline will be conducted and construction will start as soon as possible. Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and his Azeri counterpart Natig Aliyev will sign the agreement. The Trans-Anatolia pipeline is planned to be completed by 2017. The pipeline's annual capacity will be 16 billion cubic meters, six billion cubic meters for Turkey and the rest for Europe.
