- 1918 The forces of Armenia Republic liberate Alexandropol.
- 1991 Azerbaijani President Mutalibov signs the law on the dissolution of the Nagorno Gharabagh Autonomous Region. The area is arbitrarily assigned to Azerbaijani districts and geographical place names are changed in violation of Articles 86 and 87 of the Soviet Constitution and Azerbaijans own laws.
