USA SUPPORTS TURKEY’S INITIATIVE
The US supports Turkeys initiative on creation of Caucasus Union, US ambassador in Azerbaijan Dersi said during his meeting with journalists today. He did not give further comments on the Union, mentioning that the US hadnt received official information on it yet. Note that Turkish prime-minister Rejep Tajjp Erdoghan has recently proposed to create a stability and peace Platform in Caucasus which will include 5 countries. Erdoghan has already held preliminary talks with Georgia, Russia and Azerbaijan on the topic.

Today in Armenian history- 1854 The first version of a constitution for the internal organization of western Armenians is presented to the Armenian Patriarch. He eventually rejects it.

- 1945 Death of Franz Werfel (Austrian novelist). He wrote "The Forty Days of Musa Dagh" (1933), a best-selling epic tale of Armenian resistance to the Turkish Genocide of 1915. He was born in 1890.
