COUNCIL OF EUROPE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY DISCUSSES ARMENIA ON 17 APRIL
On 17 April the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly will discuss the article on democratic institutes in Armenia. According to the PACE official web site, yesterday, in extra discussion the current decision was made. The authors of the article are the reporter of the Armenian elections in the PACE John Prescott and PACE observation mission reporter George Colombier. The head of the Armenian delegation in the PACE David Harutyunyan gave an interview to the Liberty radio station and mentioned that on Thursday there could be expressions of rude positions. I think that the mood is decent and the situation should be improved. Quite different question is what will be more immediate, and what will be the common position of the Assembly, said Davit Harutyunyan. According to him there will be a report, which is getting prepared, the project is not yet prepared but the necessary works are being held on it. D. Harutyunyan clarified that they are not going to discuss March 1-2 events, but saying democratic institutes they mean mass media activities, rights holding meetings and relevant items.
