KHAVIER SOLANA CONGRATULATED SERZH SARGSYAN
The European Union (EU) High Commissioner Khavier Solana congratulated Serzh Sargsyan for accepting the post of the president of Armenia. According to the public relations department of the government, Solana particularly stated in his letter: Dear president, I would like to congratulate You for accepting the post of president of the country. I wish You success in Your responsible position. The EU followed the post election period created in Armenia after 19 February and is aware of the problems You met while accepting Your post. We appreciate Your attempt to hold a dialogue in such difficult period. EU is ready to support Armenia to meet those challenges. We continue the free examination of the post election period and the process of liberating the arrested people for not criminal reasons, the open dialogue with the opposition, and signify the importance of full independence as a point to strengthen the trust. I hope that our relationship will be more strengthened in the future.
