THE NEXT CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS OF PARLIAMENT WILL BE HELD AT THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE HEADQUARTERS
The next Conference of Presidents of Parliament will be held at the Council of Europe Headquarters in Strasbourg on 22 and 23 May 2008. The Conference is composed of Speakers and Presidents of the Parliaments of the Member States of the Council of Europe; parliaments enjoying observer status with PACE and international parliamentary assemblies. The Conference will deal with two essential challenges to Europes future: finding better ways to involve civil society more closely in the political life of our nations; and having the democratic, human rights and rule of law values that underpin all we do to find clearer expression in our daily policies, at national and European level.
