FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTERS MET WITH JUSTICE MINISTER
Today the delegation of the Council of Europe foreign affairs ministers monitoring group met with the minister of justice of Armenia Gevorg Danielyan. The delegation was interested in the principles of forbidding the imprisonments and arrested to meet their relatives, as well as the possibility of liberating the arrested in the results of the mass disorder held on 1 March, the changes in the RA law on Conducting meetings, demonstrations, providing the transparent and justified investigation of the recent events. The minister of justice mentioned that the principles are written in the RA law on keeping imprisoned and arrested people article 15 and it is not general, it can be revised; besides the ombudsman of the RA is not authorized to follow the law and he could meet the arrested. The minister justified the action that the arrested were taken not because of the political activities but because of using guns and weapons. As for the changes in the mentioned laws the minister said that the changes are made in line with the EU member countries laws and the restrictions arranged are not so powerful as they are in those countries.
