8 ACTIONS BROUGHT AGAINST…
According to the official data 34 announcements of the electoral violations were received and 17 of which was in media. In the results of those announcements 8 criminal actions were brought, 17 of them were refused, 5 were commented and 9 are in the process. The information is provided by the press secretary of chief prosecutors office. According to the source the actions are brought against the incident on Country of Laws electoral unit in Vardanantc 47, Vanadzor on 25 January; against Levon Ter-Petrosyans followers for ignoring stop mark and the policemen on 27 January; against Seyran Haroyan for shooting on Serzh Sargsyans electoral unit on 30 January; against the two shooting cases on Serzh Sargsyans electoral units in Yerevan; against the incident of attempt to fire Levon Ter-Petrosyans electoral unit on 1 February; and against the fight in Artashat during Ter-Petrosyans meeting.

Today in Armenian history- 1750 Birth of Harootyoon Shmavonyan (public figure). He died in 1824.
- 1888 Birth of Koghbetlyan in Nor Nakhijevan (Rostov, Russia). He was a mathematician, geophysicist and inventor.
- 1916 Senate Concurrent Resolution 12 resolved that "the President of the United States be respectfully asked to designate a day on which the citizens of this country may give expression to their sympathy by contributing funds now being raised for the relief of the Armenians", who at the time were enduring "starvation, disease, and untold suffering".
- 1921 Proclamation on the opening of literacy courses for illiterate and semi-literate citizens.
- 1939 Birth of Yervand Terzyan in Alexandropol (Gyoomree). He later became an astronomer and a member of the International Union of Astronomy. He was a Deputy Director of the Radiophysics and Cosmic Research Department at Cornell University (USA).
- 1953 Death of "Mother" Sosseh.
