FOR THE SAKE OF SOLIDARY ARMENIA
Solidarity public-political-social movement is implementing an event which they call For the sake of solidary Armenia. Young people who take part in the movement have been distributing leaflets since early morning at the metro stations. The initiators were proposing to put signatures in case people agree to establish solidarity in Armenia. Sargis Avetisyan, coordinator of the movement, told Panorama.am: We collect signatures to show the public how many supporters the movement has. He also mentioned that in the future the signatures may be presented to the public in the form of social study. Speaking about the political context of the action, Avetisyan explained: The action is connected with solidarity be that in the pre-election, post-election or election period. Since in this phase the political is in the dominant state that is why we are conducting a political action. We are going to do a social action after the elections.

Today in Armenian history- 1540 Birth of Simeon Aparanetsi (historian). He died in 1614.
- 1877 Birth of Alexander Melikyan in Hadrut (Artsakh). This scientist, mathematician, and engineer designed and constructed Yerevan's water-mains system.
- 1879 Birth in Baku of Hovhannes Adamyan, engineer and inventor of colored television and visual telecommunications. He was born in a family of petroleum producers. In June 1970, the inventor's remains were transferred to the Komitas Municipality (Yerevan) Pantheon. He died in 1932 in Leningrad (Russia).
- 1960 Anastas Mikoyan, Deputy President of the USSR's Council of Ministers opened the Soviet Union's Exhibition in Havana (Cuba).
