EUROPEAN COMMISSION TO OPEN REPRESENTATIONS IN YEREVAN AND BAKU
The 'trio' of the European Union will visit the South Caucasus on February 4-6. Within the framework of the visit new diplomatic representations will open in Azerbaijan and Armenia with the aim to deepen relations with the region. EU leader, foreign relations minister, Cavier Solana, foreign relations chief commissioner, Benito Ferrero-Waldner, foreign minister of Slovenia, Dmitri Ruper and EU special representative to South Caucasus Peter Semneby will be among the delegation. ''The relations between EU and South Caucasus are deepening. This is my third visit to South Caucasus and I plan to discuss the implementation of European New Neighborhood policy as well as energy safety and regional issues, including so called 'frozen conflicts,'' Ferrero Waldner said. The 'trio' will be in Armenia on February 6.
