ADIBEKYAN SAYS LEVON TER-PETROSYAN THE MOST REFUSED CANDIDATE
This time we made the surveys only in the regions of the republic in the course of 48 hours. It was an express quick survey, Aharon Adibekyan, sociologist and director of Sociometer research center, told reporters today. In his words, 100-120 employees of the center visited regions from Noyemberyan to Meghri. It was the 2nd regional survey during which 20 percent refused to answer saying they are not interested in social and political events. Seventy percent of the population is interested in the elections and the remaining 5 percent follow the development but will not take part in the elections because they do not believe anything can be changed after the elections, Adibekyan said. Speaking about how informed the public is about the candidates he said that Vahan Hovanisyan is known to 40.7%, Vazgen Manukyan 44.2%, Levon Ter-Petrosyan 80.6%, Serzh Sargsyan 97.5%, Arthur Baghdasaryan 56.8%, Artashes Geghamyan 55.0 % and the remaining three candidates, Tigran Karapetyan, Aram Harutunyan and Aram Melikyan 51%. Speaking about the election programs, Adibekyan said the public makes the choice among the persons not the programs. He said that is the weakest point of the society. According to the center survey, Arthur Baghdasaryan is the most popular opposition leader. The survey says Levon Ter-Petrosyan is the most refused candidate 40 %. A refusing attitude is also displayed to Serzh Sargsyan 10%.
