ARONYAN LEADING THE STRONGEST
''Korus Chess 2008'' super tournament continues. Armenian chess master and Champion of Olympic Games Levon Aronyan leads the list of the strongest chess players with his 2 points. Dutch Magnus Carlsen has as many points at his account. In the second round, Levon Aronyan met with Israeli Boris Gelfand. Winning Gelfand Aronyan won his 2 points. In the first round, Aronyan won over Bulgarian Veselin Topalov. The tournament is not running successfully with the World Champion Vladimir Kramnik representing Russia. He has played two draws so far. Azerbaijani Teimur Rajabov is in the second place with 1.5 points. The Azerbaijani chess player has won over World Cup Winner Vishvanat Anand and played a draw with Kramnik. Last year Aronyan won the title of champion in the same tournament. He was the only player who did not lose any games. He was followed by Azerbaijani Rajabov and Bulgarian Topalov and Russian Kramnik. ''Korus Chess'' has been held since 1938 but was called Hogoventur until the year 2002. Chess players of high rating take part in the tournament. ''Korus Chess'' kicked off on January 12 and will continue until January 27. It is held in Dutch Veik-an-Zee.
