AZARYAN SAYS FEWER OBSERVERS WILL NOT AFFECT ELECTORAL PROCESSES

Russia's initiative to cut the number of OSCE observers will not affect the elections in the opinion of Central Electoral Committee chairman Garegin Azaryan. In his words, taking into consideration the number of observers in the elections of other countries and comparing that with the number of our electoral communities, we can surely confirm that the number of observers in our country has always been big. It must be mentioned that Russia came up with an initiative to cut the number of observers in the electoral process. The document was also signed by Armenia together with other NIS countries. According to the document OSCE observers in NIS countries will be very restricted, 50 people, whereas before that their number was 600. It is expected that the document will be discussed in the foreign ministers session of OSCE member states on November 30.
