''ORDINARY REPUBLICAN'' RESPONDS TO ''ORDINARY OPPOSITION MEMBER'' LEVON TER-PETROSYAN
I must ask the prime minister and the president of the country not to speak on the speeches of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, not to interpret them, because the speeches of an ordinary opposition may be interpreted by an ordinary Republican deputy, Armen Ashotyan, a young deputy from the Republican Party, told reporters today. Ashotyan spoke about the contradictions, illogical dispositions and historical errors in the speech of the first president. He said the first error was that 1992-1994 was mentioned as years of Karabakh war, however, according to him, the war started long before and it is incorrect to consider the liberation of Shushi as the start of the war. Ashotyan said, it means that the war was launched by the Armenians and this is in the interests of the Azerbaijanis. The next error, the Republican deputy said, was that the energy crisis ended not until 1994, as mentioned by the first president, but until 1996. That the energy crisis was not connected with Karabakh conflict was said by ex prime minister Vazgen Sargsyan, Ashotyan said, also saying: If Karabakh is so precious for L. Ter-Petrosyan and his team, if he apologizes from the people for the hardships during Karabakh war, then why is he so ready to give away Karabakh so easily, quickly and cheaply? The young Republican knows the answer to this question. Because these are political postulates not addressed to the internal consumer but the external consumer, since the only thing that L. Ter-Petrosyan relies on is a favorable attitude from the outside, which he enjoys by serving Nagorno Karabakh on the tray, instead getting the chair of the president,'' he said.
