FILES ON “KARABAKH COMMITTEE” ARE WITH LEVON TER-PETROSAN
The first president Levon Ter-Petrossyan disseminated a statement on Karabakh committee criminal case files, which says in particular: In 1995 or 1996, the chief prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia, Artavazd Gevorgyan sent the files of Karabakh committee case to the residential house of the president at my request. The files were submitted to the presidential staff and recorded accordingly. The files were to be submitted to a museum which was to open on the 10th anniversary of Karabakh movement in 1998. After the change of power, the materials on Karabakh committee case were moved to my personal archive and until now they are in complete state. All the followers of Artavazd Gevorgyan did not apply to me with a request to return the files. Today also I believe the best place for the materials on Karabakh movement is in the museum which will open one day. However, if there is any need, I am ready to return the files to the archive of the prosecutors office. Reminder: yesterday chief prosecutor announced that the files were taken out of the prosecutors office in 1996 and handed to Levon Ter-Petrosyan. In Aghvan Hovsepyans words, criminal cases cannot stay in other archive, especially in personal archives.
