FORMER BANK EMPLOYEES NOW RETIRED CELEBRATE THEIR DAY
Today an event was organized with the support of three banks of the republic (Central Bank, VTB, Haynerartbank) and initiated by the Armenian banks and finance and crediting branch trade union dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the trade union and the day of bank employees. The event-reception invited about 70 retired people who worked in the banks for more than 30 years. The bank management provided financial assistance to former employees and distributed food packages. Lida Avagyan, a 33 year employees, now retired, told Panorama.am reporter that this event which has become a tradition is a chance to meet former colleagues. ''I believe it is easier to work in banks now. The computers make the work very easy. During our times, the work required more time and was more difficulty,'' she said. Speaking about the rights protection of bank employees, the trade union officials said that the situation is improving, the working conditions are improving as well. However, they say complaints continue to come to the trade union. On October 4, an agreement was signed between the Union of Banks and Branch Trade Union which regulates unresolved issues and provides future guarantees for employees.
