SERZH SARGSYAN RECEIVES BLATTER AND PLATINI
Today Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received FIFA President Joseph Blatter and UEFA President Michel Platini. This was informed by government information and public relations department. The meeting was also attended by FIFA European country development manager, Yeva Paskel, Armenian minister of sports and youth affairs, Armen Grigoryan and Armenian football federation president, Ruben Hairapetyan. The prime minister greeted world renowned Joseph Blatters and Michel Platinis visit to Armenia and thanked for the support and care about the Armenian football. FIFA and UEFA presidents mentioned that the assistance programs would hardly be any successful without the participation of the Armenian government. They highlighted that the Armenian government provided space for sports fields free of charge and that it also rendered other inventory support as well as has been supporting the football federation.

Today in Armenian history- 1886 Birth of Armin Wegener (soldier, humanitarian). As a German soldier in the Near East, he surreptitiously photographed scenes of the 1915 Armenian Genocide as it was being implemented by the Turks. He unsuccessfully tried to warn governments of possible future genocides. He died in 1978.
