POLICE SPOKESMAN SAYS THE GUILTY WILL BE PUNISHED
Sayat Shirinyan, public relations and media department head, press spokesman of the Armenian police, said investigation is under way on the death of Levon Ghulyan, director of Pandok Restaurants, who was invited to police criminal investigation department on May 12. Police says Ghulyan asked for a cup of water from police officer during his interview at the police station and tried to escape from the window but slipped and fell down. He died from the injuries at the place of the accident. Ghulyans relatives do not agree with this verdict saying Ghulyan was beaten up with signs all over the body. Rumors say Ghulyan did not try to escape from the window but he was thrown down. The name of Hovanes Tamamyuan, criminal investigation general department deputy head, is also touched upon on the case. Shirinyan advised to wait until the end of the investigation process assuring that Yerevan prosecutors office has launched a comprehensive investigation. The spokesman assured the case is under jurisdiction of the head of the police and assured that the guilty will be punished no matter who he is.
