EU CHAIRMANSHIP CONTENT FROM OUR FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS
Generally May 12 parliamentary elections passed freely and fairly in Armenia and the process of elections mainly complied with Armenias international commitments, EU chairmanship foreign agency press services told Panorama.am. The chairmanship welcomes in its statement the fact that considerable progress was reported in these elections as compared with the last elections. The chairmanship welcomes that a large group of ODHIR observation mission, OSCE and Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly delegations followed the parliamentary elections with great attention and professionalism. The chairmanship accepts joint initial assessment of the international observation mission issued on May 13. EU chairmanship requests from Armenia to check and eliminate procedural and other problems especially during vote registration as well as specific cases of discrepancies during 2008 presidential elections.
