OSCE FOREIGN MINISTERS REMINDED BAKU OF ITS COMMITMENTS UNDER MINEDORF DECLARATION
- Foreign Ministers of OSCE MG co-chairing states Sergey Lavrov (Russia) and Bernard Kushner (France) and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg met with Armenian and Azeri FMs in Athens, Greece, on the margins of OSCE Foreign Ministers’ Summit. OSCE Foreign Ministers reminded conflicting parties of their commitments under Minedorf Declaration (November 2008) and Helsinki Final Act (December 2008). Noting the positive dynamics in conflict settlement talks, they attached much significance to frequent meetings. Russian, French and American officials reiterated their countries’ willingness to assist Armenian and Azeri Presidents in achieving final coordination of principles. They find the principles key to settling conflicts on regional level. Armenian and Azeri Foreign Ministers reiterated their countries’ willingness to achieve mutual understanding based on the principles enshrined in Helsinki Final Act (non-use of force, territorial integrity, equal rights and freedom of nations).
