SUPREME COMMANDER IN CHIEF TO DECIDE FATE OF DEPUTY DEFENSE MINISTER
- The fate of Deputy Defense Minister, lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan will be decided by the Supreme Commander in Chief, RA Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan. “Lieutenant general Grigoryan has been on leave. According to the Constitution, the President will take a decision, since as the Supreme Commander in Chief, he is empowered to appoint or dismiss, or confer military ranks,” he said. Earlier, Serzh Sargsyan expressed regret that “Manvel Grigoryan attempted to engage in politics and disobey the Supreme Commander in Chief.” During the February 21 rally, former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan announced that two Deputies to the RA Defense Minister, including Lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan, head of the Yerkrapah union, joined the opposition movement.

People like lt. general Manvel Grigorian should set an example for the rest of the high and mid ranking army officers of the republic of Armenia (the rank and file soldiers no doubt are in favor and supportive of the
free and democratic will of the people but they are forced to follow orders of coward dictators). To me, Levon this is very encouraging and is a sign of optimism that hopefully others in the army will also follow suit the lt. general heroic example and will not behave as puppets in the hands of the governing regime, will stand brave and firm against the governing brutal, authoritarian rule and its commands to attack and even murder innocent Armenians. The lt. general heroic stand indicates that highest ranking army officers are professionals, have respect in their
responsibilities towards the country and its PEOPLE and most of all, they obey their constitutional oath to serve and protect no matter what, the democratic and free will of the people of Armenia.
Levon, it should not be difficult at all if you honestly want to spot the murderers (with clubs, electroshock devices, guns, tanks etc.) of our fellow democratic citizens who cried out for DEMOCRACY, TRANSPARENCY, SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, PROSPECTS FOR A BETTER LIVING, CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS, DIGNITY to mention only few. Just open your eyes and look around.
