    Mihran,
Let me tell you a story it begins with RK contacting his friend Ilham Aliyev and yes despite the conflict those two are indeed friends...so RK calls him and says plan a suprise attack on karabagh, so that the opposition will shut their trap. And this happens...now everybody will point fingers at the opposition for sectarianizing the Armenian people. If you think this is absurd then my friend you dont know Armenian politics, because the stuff that our people do when it comes to politics is unimaginable...believe me I've witnessed some.

Rafael, you are some story teller ! I would love to see some evidence of your claims of RK and Aliyev being friends, something like a picture where they sit together having a cup of coffee, laughing, and talking about how the kids are doing (that is what I do with my friends) or maybe a tape of this phone conversation you are referring to where you "HEARD" RK tell him to attack our land and our brothers... I am waiting... well until you can provide some hard facts (not your opinions and "Stories") I suggest you shut your yap!
Comments like this are childish, I can tell by you posts that you don't like RK and you are entitled to your opinion, I have no position on him nor on LTB (and don't forget the state of Armenia when LTB was in charge) so if you want to bash RK, go ahead but do it with facts.

You might be kidding! Men, be a little bit serious! What kind of friendship you are talking about??? In strategic point of view it was clear that Azeris are going to use Armenia's internal situation and try to "check" front line readyness.
    That's the all story.

you are realy hurting my feelings to be a proud armenian.are we really that low a nation ? however for this discussion i have no legitimit grounds to disagree.because i do'nt know better saying no no is childish other than hope that it ca'nt be true .
if you are following my arguments you will notice that i am an ardant fighter about points that i believe in because i have followed the campaigne when it started. my memory is not that bad not to recall the history of armenia after the independance.some people think that i am paid by dashnaks or RK or SS this is another ugly scenario whenever you disagree they start insulting you its ashame.i simply felt verry hurt when our ex presedent made some unpleasant and hatered oriented announcments.this is abuse of democracy.did you hear insults from obama or clinton?

Guys we became this nation that forgot it's roots, instead of sticking together shoulder to shoulder as Armenians who survived decades of wars and suffering now we are fighting each other in Armenia and in United States. Good old days we respected the truth now it's like an ocean of power where big and powerfull fish eats a small one. Unfortunatly good ols Armenian values are sinking fast

Rafael's comments are an exaggeration but they are not childish. It is well planned by RK. Think logically, would Azeris attack NKR with a small troop or with a real army? This was just a little local shooting, probably initiated by NKR upon RK's order. Generally, everything that is happing these days was well planned by RK.
    1. RK had to prevent people from gathering at the Liberty Square as soon as possible. Saturday, March 1, was the best time:
    - RK could expect that during the weekend there would be more people than on other days, as many people could not participate on working days.
    - The number of the participants would be increasing as hearing at the Constitutional Court was planned to start on March 4.
    - Regions were joining. Meetings were held in Gyumri and Vanadzor on Feb 28 and 29.
    - The presidential elections in Russia on March 2 would detract the attention of the international community.
    2. The police attacked peaceful people sleeping in their tents on the Liberty Square at 6.40am, while the city was still asleep.

    3. RK knew that the violence in the morning would create a larger protest during the day. To keep it unorganized and uncontrollable, he isolated LTP and some other members of his team. Officially, LTP was not under home arrest, but de facto he was not allowed to leave his residence.
    4. RK needed to catalyze the processes, so rumors were circulated (I am sure by KGB) that 8 people, including a 6-year old girl, were beaten up to death.
    5. People started gathering at the square next to the French Embassy to protest against the violence. They were pretty organized. It’s hard to believe it, isn’t it? Ok, check the video on youtube.com/a1plusnews. You will see that once the people forced the police into the building, they stepped back. No crashing of windows or doors or other violence.
    6. Some cars located in that area were destroyed and used to build barricades. The petrol was used for making bottles with Molotov cocktail.
    7. RK was waiting until it’s dark. But he did not attack the people. The police and army were shooting in the air and using tear gas. Now, try to imagine that situation. It’s dark, tear gas does not allow you to see what’s happening, there is a lot of shooting, the sky is full of red traces from machine-gun bullets, etc. And you are on the front line… What would you do? You would probably start protecting yourself with whatever means you had handy.
    8. Crowd run away very quickly. Only some 100 people stayed there and started breaking into stores (total of 4 stores were intruded). Who would doubt that not all of the people gathered there would be nice and intelligent people? No doubts there were also KGB agents dressed in regular cloths.

    9. RK introduced a state of emergency. Not only did he prohibit mass gatherings, but he also blocked access to media and introduced strict censorship.
    10. The Ombudsmen expressed his critical views about the situation and was harshly criticized by RK.
    Check ombuds.am/main/en/9/18/1281/ and unzipped.blogspot.com/2008/03/human-rights-ombudsmen-armen.html
    11. Many leaders of opposition are arrested. Four members of parliament are deprived of immunity and are going to be arrested as well.
    12. The hearing at the Constitutional Court started on March 4.
    13. Same evening the Armenian people learned that Azeris are attacking NKR. Well, is it a new war??? Of course (and thanks God), it’s not. RK and SS arranged that show to blame on LTP that he destabilized the situation in Armenia and allowed Azeris to take advantage. Huh… That was a one-day war, Azeris attacked, brave Armenian army counter-attacked, Azeris calmed down. What a touching story…. Anyway, let’s return to Yerevan.

    14. Everybody who thinks that the courts in Armenia are independent is totally wrong. They do what they are instructed to do. RK and SS cannot let the Court to decide against them. They would do anything to make sure the Court decides for them. Otherwise, they and their oligarch friends would lose everything they have and would be imprisoned for all their crimes and corruption.
    15. What is going to happen next? LTP will be arrested once the Constitutional Court publishes its decision about approving the results of the elections. In any case it should happen before lifting the state of emergency (March 21). Everybody who would try to organize a meeting after March 21 will be immediately arrested. On April 7, SS will take over the presidency. Note that with the recent amendment of the Constitution, after this elections many powers of the president would be transferred to the prime-minister. Probably RK will be appointed as the prime-minister. Thus, SS will be the president, RK would be the prime-minister and would be rather powerful, as he would have many authorities the president used to have so far, the majority in the parliament would be from Republican Party of SS and from Prosperous Armenia of Gagik Tsarukian (this party was artificially cultivated by RK). SS and RK will be exchanging their positions for the years to come. There are rumors that SS is seriously ill. If illness (or sadden death) prevents him from staying at his post, RK would be able to be re-elected, as the two continuous terms would be interrupted.

Did you see their bodies or participated to the funeral? You trust Armenian media too much. Don't be so naive. And even if 8 Azeris were shot dead, you would not convince me that it was not provoked by the Armenian side. What is the reason Azeris did not attack full force? Or you think the death of 8 solders would frighten the Azeri army??? Come on, be a bit more realistic, and try to think logically. By the way, did the Azeri confirm the same? :) Read this: http://www.azernews.az/site/
