U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT: KARABAKH RESOLUTION BY USE OF FORCE EXCLUDED

The United States strongly adheres to a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, U.S. Charge d’Affaires in Armenia Joseph Pennington told a news conference in Yerevan. “Despite Azerbaijan’s bellicose statements, the U.S. position is unchangeable: our country excludes resolution of the conflict by use of force,” he said quoting OSCE MG Co-chair Matthew Bryza. When asked to comment on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process, Mr Pennignton said, “Minsk Group Co-chair Matthew Bryza will arrive in Yerevan in January. He will tell about the recent developments in the peaceful process better than me.”
