EUROPARLIAMENT DISCUSSES TURKEY PROGRESS ON WAY TO EU
- During the plenary session of the Europarliament the report of Dutch MP Keimiel Jorling on Turkey's progress on way to EU accession will be discussed. The vote on the report will take place September 27. Turkish sources report that an item on recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey as a precondition of EU membership will be withdrawn from the report. The item was absent in the previous version of the report, however, it was introduced during discussions in the Foreign Relations Commission of the Europarliament, reports RFE/RL.
