KOCHARIAN-PUTIN MEETING SCHEDULED DECEMBER 16
Before the end of the year Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Armenian President Robert Kocharian. The meeting is scheduled December 16, while at the end of January 2006 R. Kocharian will open the Year of Armenia in Russia. The two state leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues referring to revision of the price policy of Russia in gas industry that provide for transfer to conventional market relations, including with the CIS countries. Meanwhile, sources in Belarus report that V. Putin also intends to meet with Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko. It should be reminded that according to the information available, the Russian party is going to provide preferences to the Belarus party in Russian gas import, while there are no such to be provided for Armenia. At that according to reports of Russian officials, Russia and Armenia will continue the search for ways of mutually beneficial energy cooperation. Russia can cover Armenian party's expenses, resulting from increased gas tariffs via privileged interstate credits and large joint programs, reported IA Regnum.
