15 FAMILIES DECLARE HUNGER STRIKE IN AZERBAIJAN
- BAKU. - The societal discontent has reached its peak in the regions of Azerbaijan. Specifically, 15 families in the country's Masali region declared a hunger strike in protest against Gezenfer Aghayev, head of the region's public intellectual's union. The protest had begun on December 18, but the number of hunger strikers is growing, Yeni Musavat newspaper of Azerbaijan writes, adding that one-hundred more families could soon join this hunger strike.
"The hunger strikers informed that ever since assuming the region's leadership, Gezenfer Aghayev is busy with collecting money. The residents even petitioned the president, but no attention was paid to the complaints," Yeni Musavat writes.
