WILL PUTIN ARRIVE?

Russia's president Vladimir Putin will attend on Monday the first round of Caucasus 2012 exercise at the Rayevski military polygon in Krasnodar. The CSTO CRRF is underway in Armenia in the same period. The minister of defense of Russia Anatoly Serdyukov was said to arrive in Armenia to attend this event. It will take only a few hours to fly to Armenia on a glider from Krasnodar. Will Putin arrive in Armenia or has he given up this idea for some reason? Experts expected certain "reference points" from this visit. If Putin arrives in Armenia, he might insist on proposals to join the Eurasian Union and indirectly call to support in the upcoming presidential elections the candidate which will advocate Armenia's integration with Russia. If Putin does not come, this may be a sign that he sees no meaning and no hope to persuade Armenia to leave the European path and Serzh Sargsyan's election. Nothing is so simple, but obviously there are some expectations from the visit or refusal. Moreover, the "national" Eurasian movement is growing in Russia. Tajikistan will apparently agree to keep the Russian military base in its territory for free for another 20 years, while in Armenia there are rumors on the deployment of "military units of other countries", though there is an act banning such a possibility without consulting the CSTO.
