PROTESTER KIDNAPPED
- Last night RA citizen Artavazd Vardanyan, member of the March 1 commission who went on hunger protest on May 3 in front of the RA Central Electoral Commission building was kidnapped and taken to his native village, Musaler. Today he is back to Yerevan. He protested against the parliamentary elections the results of which he considered predetermined by the regime which was reproduced thanks to March 1. He calls intellectual people to find a way out of this deadlock. On May 9 the protester wanted to put up a tent but Colonel Robert Melkonyan and several policemen forced the protester out of the tent and took away his tent and umbrella.

Today in Armenian history- 1804 Mamed Khan of Yerevan, knowing of the Russian force's progress, orders the migration (for the duration of the war) of about 20000 Armenians from the Khanate of Yerevan to Ghars.
