SHE DIDN'T BETRAY HER HUSBAND THIS YEAR

The Ministry of Diaspora, summering the past year, made a sensational statement: it recorded that last year no law breaches and abuses were registered in the ministry. This is the same as the woman considers an achievement of the past year the fact that she was not unfaithful to her husband. Apparently, the rest of achievements are not visible on the background of the lack of breaches. The main achievement of the ministry should become the union of efforts of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora in the decision of national tasks. Is there consensus between the power of Armenia and the Diaspora on national issues? This issue is purely national but it has geopolitical sounding. Director of the International Crisis Group European Program Sabina Fraiser said for example that "normalizing its relations with Turkey, Armenia could demonstrate to the Armenian Diaspora that it can lead politics not depending on the latter". This means that the Armenian Diaspora is believed within the international community of experts to influence on the Republic of Armenia and its foreign policy. And the factor of the Diaspora is seen in geopolitical schemes separately from Armenia and on a higher level. Are the things this way in reality? And if so, why the Ministry of Diaspora is not a provider of state policy in the Diaspora and the claims of the Diaspora in Armenia? Does this mean that the government of Armenia is satisfied with this state of affairs, and it is not going to combine the policy with the claims of the Diaspora?As an achievement, the Ministry of Diaspora has to note its participation in the lobbying of the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian genocide in France, in the decision of the Armenian churches issue in Georgia, in finding the answer to the question why Armenian students are killed in Russian every week, and many other questions. And the main thing is that the Ministry of Diaspora should report how many Diaspora Armenians it attracted to Armenia, at least for a temporary stay and what programs they were offered. The relationship between Armenia and Diaspora should not be built on the ethnical pathos - you will not surprise anyone. Moreover, it is wrong to build them outlining the lack of breaches as an achievement. Until the Minister of Diaspora makes such statements, the nation will not trust the government, which spends money on forums and parties, leaving in the lurch (or up to Diaspora) urgent national issues.
