DOESN'T BHP ACCOMPANY SERZH SARGSYAN?
- The founder of the Ararat office of Bargavach Hayastan Party and already its former head, and former deputy Mayor of Ararat Karen Khachatryan resigned from the membership of the party. In this connection he gave an interesting explanation to the Hraparak Daily. "I always do my job with commitment and responsibility, being sure that I served the main goal state building and strengthening. With this faith, I voted for President Serzh Sargsyan. Now the coalition has already done its job, I thinks so, many people think so, and I don't want to take other steps. I am a serviceman and I am sure that I continue to walk along my way, believing, trusting the policy of the president."" said Khachatryan. The question occurs whether the current views of BHP are different. Has BHP stopped trusting Serzh Sargsyan's policy? We can assume this from Karen Khachatryan's statement, otherwise why would he give such an explanation for his decision to leave the party? His explanation means that Khachatryan believes BHP is leaving Serzh Sargsyan so he decided to leave the party because he wants to be beside Sargsyan. One more point is interesting here. Karen Khachatryan was the founder and head of the BHP Ararat office, as well as the Mayor of Ararat town. In other words, Karen Khachatryan is a representative of the administrative resource of BHP, which is of great importance in the election period for any party. Actually, BHP is losing the administrative resource in favor of the Republicans or Serzh Sargsyan because RPA is just a cover. Will Karen Khachatryan be the first and last one or will other "administrative" BHP members follow his example? Here is the main intrigue of this situation because if the point is not a single case but a starting process, it can essentially influence the BHP potential in the parliamentary election. Losing one of its factors of influence, the BHP will naturally weaken, weakening at the same time its positions v Serzh Sargsyan, it will thus be unable to impose a lot of serious demands. Such changes in Serzh Sargsyan-BHP relations will surely impact the general election process, which will make all the forces draw conclusions and make tactical and even strategic corrections.
