LONG-TERM OBSERVATION MISSION SET OUT

The OSCE Yerevan office told ARKA that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights starts a long-term observation of the parliamentary election in Armenia. A few days ago 13 long-term observers arrived in Yerevan, another 29 will join them soon, the observers will work in all the regions of Armenia. About 300 short-term observers will monitor the voting to the Armenian parliament. In the end, the observers will make a conclusion on the compliance of the election with democratic benchmarks and the national legislation. The OSCE experts think the amended Electoral Code enables holding a compliant election, everything depends on the will of the Armenian government.
