3 % CRIMES IN YEREVAN ARE COMMITTED BY NON-YEREVANITES
- The head of the Police Department of Yerevan Nerses Nazaryan stated March 19 that in the first two months of 2007 19 crimes were committed against citizens of other countries. Only 659 crimes were reported over this period, including one case of battery and assault, 10 cases of theft, four injuries, and other crimes. 5 are citizens of Iran, three are citizens of the United States, two are citizens of Syria, and one citizen of Georgia, Germany and Iraq each.
Foreign citizens committed three crimes: injury, abduction, a person was run down. Five are from Iran. One is a citizen of India.
In the same period 31 people from the regions of Armenia committed 28 crimes. 17 are from the region of Kotayk, five are from Ararat, 4 from Armavir, 3 from Aragatsotn, 2 from Shirak, and one from Syunik and one from Lori.
