IMPEACHMENT ALLIANCE REGISTERED
With all the nine members present, the Central Electoral Commission decided March 1 to register the Impeachment Alliance of the Conservative Party of Armenia (Mikael Hairapetyan) and the Democratic Homeland Party (leader Petros Makeyan). This alliance has close ties with the Alternative Public and Political Initiative the representative of which Nicol Pashinyan told our reporter today that the ticket of the alliance is not ready yet. The discussion is underway. The question of running for parliament under the majority system is also under consideration.
During the same meeting the CEC refused to register the observers of the Stand-by Law Enforcement Squad NGO. The explanation is that protection of human rights and democracy are not set down in the bylaws of the organization, and the development of the law enforcement system set down in the bylaws is a broad notion. Besides, the deputy chair of the CEC said a representative of the organization will run for parliament from electoral district 4.
