IAJ CONFERENCE KICKED OFF IN ARMENIA

From September 7 to 11 the 51st annual conference of the International Association of Judges will take place in Armenia. Over 216 judges from 53 countries of the world have arrived in Armenia to participate in it. Today was the ceremony of opening of the conference which the chief justice of the Court of Appeal Hovanes Manukyan, the president of the IAJ Maya Tratnik and the president of the Association of Armenian Judges Hrachik Sargsyan addressed. And on September 7 the Latin American, African, Asian, North American and Transoceanic regional panel sessions took place. In the evening the guests visited the memorial and museum of the victims of the Armenian genocide. The 51st conference of the Association will discuss the independence of the judicial system from the executive, the integrity of judges, and other important. During the conference the president and deputies of the IAJ will be elected, as well as the place of the 52nd conference of the Association will be chosen.
