APPEAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW

On September 5 the youth wing of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun made a statement which concerns Abdullah Gul’s visit to watch the football match Armenia vs. Turkey. They consider Gul’s arrival as a political step. Today Turkey is trying to appear as a civilized state where human rights are honored, where there is no discrimination of ethnic minorities, but this veil is uncovered by the assassination of Hrant Dink, a reporter of Armenian origin, persecution of the Turkish progressive intelligentsia, and destruction of the Armenian historical monuments. Turkey is biased for Azerbaijan regarding the issue of Karabakh, keeps Armenia in blockade and refuses to recognize the Armenian genocide, the statement holds. At the same time, the West shuts on eye on such phenomena, the youth wing of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun notes. The Armenian people must rely on themselves to solve their national problems, without yielding to pressure and temptation, they state. “A clear case of temptation is the new logo on the uniform of the national football team of Armenia, which not only distorts the national emblem of Armenia but also rejects the former logo, in addition, with the image of Mount Ararat on it,” the statement holds. “The youth union of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the students union Nicol Aghbalyan are going to convey our urge to the president of Turkey in accordance with the law and present our claims to him. There can be no retreat in our struggle for the recognition and retribution of the Armenian Genocide. We believe that it will end up in success in the near future,” runs the statement of the union of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the students union Nicol Aghbalyan.
