ARF SAYS FOOTBALL FEDERATION’S STEP IS A SHAME

The representative of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan hosted at the National Press Club on September 4 wonders about the fuss about the visit of Abdullah Gul. “As if we are going to meet our missing brother,” Armen Rustamyan said. In particular, Armen Rustamyan noted the football federation which removed Mount Ararat from its logo. A few days ago the federation presented its new logo and the new uniform of the national team from which the picture of Mount Ararat has been removed. The new logo of the Federation which is on the uniform is the national emblem of Armenia with a ball at the center. Armen Rustamyan says the Federation first of all distorts the national emblem. As to the removal of Mount Ararat from the logo, Armen Rustamyan asks why the federation took that step if there was no pressure from Turkey. If there was pressure from Turkey, Armen Rustamyan asks if it is not a shame that Armenia agreed. Rustamyan stated that as the football match is drawing nearer, they will not voice this issue now but after the match they will set forward this issue because Rustamyan thinks that those who did that made a serious mistake without understanding the subtleties.
