ATOM 2008 IN ARMENIA
From July 14 to 18 the ministry of emergencies and the U.S. embassy office for military cooperation, the national guard of Kansas and the information management network of the NATO Partnership for Peace program hold a seminar devoted to the functions of the crisis management center and the Atom 2008 training for command and staff. The training is the third and concluding part of the crisis management program. In Atom 2008 representatives of the ministries of emergencies, foreign affairs, defense, energy and natural resources, economy, urban planning, health, environment, transport and communication, agriculture, the nuclear plant, the National Security Service, the police, the State Water Board, the Nuclear and Radiation Security Inspection of the ministry of environment, the state meteorological service, the General Department of Civil Aviation, regional administrations, the UN, NATO, the National Guard of Kansas and embassies take part. The goal of the training is to check the effectiveness of collaboration among different agencies in case of an emergency in the nuclear plant, as well as to try out the national program of protection of the population in case of nuclear and radiation emergencies.
