STRUGGLE FOR THE IRAVUNK
The SIM Party reported to the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition on June 11, 2008 that from June 3, 2008 the Tesaket company publishes the Iravunk de facto newspaper. The name of the newspaper can be easily confused with the name of the Iravunk, the newspaper they have published for decades. According to the notification of agency for intellectual property of the ministry of economy, on June 10, 2008 Haik Babukhanyan and on June 18, 2008 Tesaket appealed for registering Iravunk and Iravunk de facto respectively as trade marks, which are still under consideration. At the same time, according to the conclusion of the Agency for Intellectual Property, the names of the abovementioned newspapers resemble to the degree of confusion. During the meeting of the session of the State Commission of Protection of Economic Competition the representative of Tesaket said in choosing the name of the newspaper they did not intend to imitate another newspaper, and now they are likely to change the name to avoid confusion. Considering this circumstance, the Commission warned the Tesaket company to eliminate the breach and instructed to rule it out in future.
