THEY HAVE NOT DECIDED ON LEVON TER-PETROSYAN AND ROBERT KOCHARYAN YET
On July 4 the secretary of the faction of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Artush Shahbazyan told reporters about the activities of the ad hoc committee to inquire into the events of March 1 since its establishment. Shahbazyan is a member of that committee. He said over this time the committee has received letters from two convicts, they even visited one of them but on the day when he was taken to the court. According to Shahbazyan, the visits will continue, to other convicts as well, especially to the arrested members of parliament, the families of the victims of March 1. The committee is going to carry out a multifarious investigation, Artush Shahbazyan says, to reach an impartial conclusion. Regarding the wish for an impartial and multifarious investigation, the reporters asked if a decision has been made to listen to Robert Kocharyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan. It turns out that there is no such decision yet. However, he does not rule out that the committee will invite Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharyan to listen to them. In other words, it turns out that the committee may not invite them as well. In this connection, the reporters asked Artush Shahbazyan how he imagines an investigation of March 1 without listening to Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharyan. “Levon Ter-Petrosyan has not responded to the proposals of the committee yet, and I cannot tell for him if he will accept the invitation in case he is invited to the hearings. We do not have legal authority, and our decision is not binding. If there are any reservations regarding the establishment of the committee, will there be a wish to come? With regard to inviting Robert Kocharyan, I think it is highly probable and it is possible that we will invite him,” Artush Shahbazyan says.
